Atmospheric Landscapes

This series is created with oil paints and cold wax medium or encaustic on wood panel. The paintings are intuitively inspired by color and textures found in nature. Each layer contrasts the previous layer and is disturbed or conserved as a response to memories of visual forms, colors and the landscapes I have encountered. These paintings can be seen as direct landscapes or seascapes, or they can equally be seen as abstract expressionist works about color, form, and surface. The dialogue between these two different perceptions creates a dynamic artistic tension within the work.
